According to the Guardian, Michael Williams, a former BBC journalist and currently a special coordinator for the regional peace process for the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, is expected to be confirmed in the job next week,
According to the Guardian report, the appointment could lead to a potential clash with the work of Tony Blair, who has been recently appointed special envoy of the so-called Mideast Quartet, consisting of the US, EU, UN and Russia.
