Taking Liberties with Freedom
A Blog debate is developing in the comments section of James Harmmerton’s Blog . James, who is an excellent blogger and regularly writes about our eroded civil liberties, informs us that, he is now concentrating on writing for http://www.magnacartaplus.org/
On visiting Magna Carta Plus, I was dismayed to see the image of 'Marianne', one of the most prominent symbols of the French Republic staring back at me.
Being the pedant Anglo Saxon that I am, I had to point out, the typical and continental mistake of confusing Liberty with Freedom.
Liberty is granted, Freedom is a right.
