Scottish Antarctic Territory
The UK government is reportedly deeply concerned over control of Antarctica given the forthcoming Scottish independence referendum. Should the Scottish electorate vote to create a new Scottish state, the Scottish government would likely stake a permanent claim to Antarctica during independence negotiations with Westminster.
UK rights in the Antartic Territory were devolved to Scotland, by accident, in 1999.

Without English subsidy the Scottish EU Region wont even be able to afford to keep itself in the lap of luxury, free prescriptions, free dental checkups, free NHS parking, free central heating for the elderley, lower.capped council tax rates, free tuition etc etc etc, nevermind any other territories.
That's no doubt why EUnionist Salmond is so fanataical about EU membership for an 'Independent' (HoHoHo!) Scotland - got to get subsidy from somehere!
if scotland wants to be independant, then let it be independant. forget about the finances, millitary, economical factors, its a matter of principle. english folk have no right to comment and decide of what the needs and wants of the Scottish are to be. Its our country. England has theres, Ireland also, but scotland is ours(the scottish) and if we want it we will get it.
