The Fuehrer Oath

A Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Jane Kennedy, has resigned from the government, as the Prime Minister continues his reshuffle. She was asked for a pledge of loyalty and refused to give it.

"I swear by almighty God this sacred oath:
I will render unconditional obedience
to the Fuehrer of the Labour Party, Gordon Brown,
Supreme Commander of the Party,
and, as a brave foot soldier,
I will be ready at any time
to stake my life for this oath."
